HOW TO ORDER A SUPPRESSOR FROM Bass Pro Shops

Whether you're honing your skills at the range, or protecting your hearing on the hunt, a suppressor helps cut down on disruptive noise. Once you’ve chosen your suppressor from Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s and completed the checkout process, there are just a few more steps to complete. We’ve partnered with Silencer Central to make the buying process as smooth as possible. Here’s how it works:

STEP #1: COMPLETE YOUR CHECKOUT PROCESS WITH BASS PRO SHOPS

STEP #2: REGISTERING WITH SILENCER CENTRAL

Suppressors are regulated as NFA items by the United States government as per the National Firearms Act, and as such require a tax stamp and approval from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. As of January 1, 2026, there is no fee for tax stamps. Once you’ve completed the checkout process, Silencer Central will reach out via email within 1–2 business days with a link to complete your secure profile. This profile will help streamline the process and help you get your suppressor faster.

STEP #3: COMPLETE YOUR FINGERPRINT CARDS

Once you’ve registered with Silencer Central, they will mail fingerprint cards to your home. Complete the fingerprint cards and send them back to Silencer Central along with a clear, well-lit photograph of your face.

STEP #4: CREATE AN eFORMs ACCOUNT WITH THE BATFE

Visit https://www.atf.gov/firearms/forms/eforms-applications for information on creating an eForms account with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

STEP #5: SCHEDULE A CALL WITH SILENCER CENTRAL TO COMPLETE BATFE FORM 4

Silencer Central will send you an email with a link to digitally sign BATFE Form 4. This form includes your personal information, the suppressor’s serial number, and a passport-style photo. This will typically be approved by the BATFE within 1–3 days.

STEP #6: COMPLETE FORM 4473

Once your BATFE Form 4 is approved, you’ll need to complete Form 4473 (Firearms Transaction Record). A copy of your BATFE Form 4 is sent to your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) for notification. Following notification, a 7-day waiting period is required.

STEP #7: WAIT FOR YOUR TAX STAMP

Once the waiting period is over, BATFE will issue a tax stamp as proof of legal ownership of your suppressor. Please make sure to always carry a copy of your tax stamp and BATFE Form 4 when using your suppressor as law enforcement may ask for it.

STEP #8: RECEIVE YOUR SUPPRESSOR

Your suppressor will be delivered directly to your door – no visit to an FFL or gun shop required. Fulfilled by Silencer Central. Federal law requires an ATF application, fingerprints, background check, and ATF approval before delivery. Processing times vary. Not available in CA, DC, DE, HI, IL, MA, NJ, NY, or RI. Must be 21+.
